Ummmm, I’m kind of sweating bullets right now. Every time I go into my office, I perspire a mini river. Not pretty. I think the fan in my iMac is out and my computer is going to self-destruct anytime. Not cool. Literally not cool. I could fry an egg on that thing. I’m frantically trying to think if everything is backed up, but I’m a little foggy when it comes to the family videos. Oh crap.
I love computers and I hate computers. This kind of stuff makes me nuts. I’m crazy when it comes to photos and videos, in that I document everything, but I’m not great at backing up and archiving. I don’t dare turn my computer on for fear it will burst into flames while I try to do a back-up. Time machine should have me covered, but I honestly don’t know if I ever set it up right in the first place. I’m computer illiterate (and I call myself a blogger?) Let’s just keep that between you and me, okay? I do the best I can to pretend I know what I’m doing.
So, I have lots and lots of great stuff to post (today my son turned 6-years old) and I have pictures galore to edit, but tonight, it’s all about making due with what I have.
This is how a mama blogs when she’s afraid to touch her computer…
First thing, take a photo with my iPhone. Check.
Second, don’t edit the photo, upload it on my laptop. Check. (Welcome to the side of my bed.)
Third, write about my iMac burning up. Check.
Fourth, ask you if your computer has ever burned up and you regrettably lost everything on it because you procrastinated backing it up. ??? And if so, do tell!
Fifth, realize that this is a good time to remind myself and all of you that backing up our memories is pretty important. I’ll be devastated if I lose my videos. I think I may sign up for an offsite backup plan (I hear crashplan.com is a good one). Do you use an off-site plan?
Sixth, call it a night and hope that Apple Care can extinguish my burning anxiety in the morning.
