My fondest childhood memories are those where I had or went to sleepovers. Secrets are told, friendships are strengthened, and a lot of fun is had by all. Sleepovers are a rite of passage for children, as evidenced by my 7 year old who asks almost every day if she can have a sleepover, or the too-many-to-count sleepovers that she gets invited to.

Sleepovers can be fun, but there is a little preparation required first. The key to a successful sleepover is keeping your sanity, having a strategy, and making sure that the kids enjoy themselves.

Straighten up the house

Be bathroom ready!

Manage the Sleeping arrangements

Plan your Snacks and drinks with the kids in mind

Establish where the no-go zones are located

Designate Drop off times and be firm

Have back up Stuffed animals

Plan lots of kid friendly Activities

Pick a fun Theme

Plan a Fun farewell breakfast
