I remember about 6 months ago or so, I wrote a post here wondering about organized sports for kids. I had played them when I was a child (just baseball) and was unsure on when or if to start that same thing up for my kids.
I worried about being over-scheduled, having the kids choose something they hate and pondered between the “must have” lessons (like swimming) verses the fun lessons they want to do.
I got some great responses, but still decided to wait a little longer until my youngest child would be old enough to choose something for her too and to think more about which direction we were going to go in.
I think we have finally decided to do it. I know it will be great for the kids and they’re beginning to really show what they are interested in and believe that the programs we’re choosing will be ones they like.
Speed wants to do karate, Raru wants to do dance and Bean wants swimming.
I worry a bit about how or if we will be able to fit all that in (I mean, it would be so much easier for us, if they were all doing the same thing), and I really don’t want anyone to feel over-stressed from over-scheduling and the complications that come with trying to organize multiple activities.
We’re going to give it a go though — when the warmer weather hits. Hopefully, it won’t be all to stressful and will be a great addition to our everyday. Here’s hoping!
