The spring time has just finally hit us and with that, we get out of the wintertime blues. We’re stuck indoors a lot because I hate the cold and I miss out on our daily walks, fun at the park and dinner picnics outside.
Just around the corner, the kids will be on summer break from school and though it sounds like a long time away, next comes the new school year. I know it sounds like I am getting ahead of myself, but this is the last summer that we will have like this.
Next school year — like 5 months away, my youngest will be starting school too. It will be the first time in almost 8 years that I have been without a child or two (or three) in my care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
It’s going to be so strange and so amazing at the same time. I honestly don’t know what I will do with the quite for a while, but I know that Bean is ready and she’s been begging to go to school with her big brother and sister all year.
It was strange to see the note that came home from Bean’s soon-teacher saying she saw her name on the JK list. She’s the same teacher that taught Speed and is teaching Raru now and that brings me some comfort.
Change is never easy and I know that with this summer being the last where I have all three kids home with me will be challenging and I want to make it extra special. It’s kind of the end of something that’s been a part of me for so long and the beginning of much more to come.
