Kid Friendly Cold and Flu Remedies (Giveaway!)

By caseymullins |

‘Tis the season for big kids bringing home all sorts of germs to the little kids. We’ve made it well into December with no shared sicknesses (knock on wood) and I’m hoping to keep the streak going. However an awful lot of the cold and flu remedies out there aren’t very kid friendly. Did you know that allowing your kids to use alcohol based hand sanitizer is basically the same as applying grain alcohol to their hands? One accidental lick and you have a very sick little kid.

I have a whole kit of kid friendly cold and flu essentials that include nasal spray that actually helps prevent colds and ear infections, organic alcohol free hand sanitizer that kills 99% of germs, all natural homeopathic cough syrup and a thermometer that allows you to take your sick child’s temperature without ever waking them.

The kit includes:

1 Mobi Dual Scan Ear and Forehead Thermometer ($34.95)

Includes an LED flashlight and allows for a digital or voice readout of a sleeping child’s temperature without waking them by simply touching it to their forehead. Stores 20 most recent readings and also includes options to display room temperature, date and time on the large digital screen.

1 Bottle 100% Natural Hyland’s Cold and Cough Syrup ($7.99)

From the makers of Hyland’s teething tablets comes a Aspirin, Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Pseudoephedrine or Dextromethorphan free cold and cough syrup that is non habit forming, safe for kids as young as two and treats coughs, sniffles, sore throat and sneezing without stimulant or sleepy side effects.

1 Bottle Xlear Nasal Spray with Xylitol ($6.99)

The only nasal spray available on the market with the Xylitol that is proven to coat nasal passages, keeping cold and flu bacteria out. Safe and effective at any age, non habit forming and can be used up to twice a day.

BabyGanics The Germinator Alcohol Free Hand Sanitizing Foam and Wipes ($49.99)

An entire collection of hand sanitizers for on the go, in the house and in the car. People friendly, all natural with no sticky after feel or alcohol burn.
Ready to enter? You can enter up to 5 times and continue to tweet once per day until the contest ends at Midnight EST, December 27th.

Great timing, since all my kids (and I) are currently fighting colds or ear infections. Obviously, I’m waging a losing battle on the germs, but I try to disinfect what I can and always wash my hands.
