When I Was A Kid, I Used To Believe ______

When I was a kid, I believed the bands on the radio were at the radio station and just went on live one after each other. Journey was waiting for Run DMC to finish, and Cyndi Lauper was waiting to go after Huey Lewis and the News.

Ridiculous, yet perfectly natural – for a kid. I accepted that this box could produce sounds from afar, but in order to produce those sounds, people had to be waiting live to play all the sounds.

Now, my career is a radio announcer. I love how that comes full circle. I recently asked my listeners to fill in the blank “What I believed when I was a kid …”

Here are some of the most gullible.
