How We Failed at Having a Lazy, Rainy SundayMeghan Gesswein
We didn’t get out of our pajamas today. Those of us who wore pajamas, at least. The two big boys woke up in their underwear and stayed in their undies. All day. And you know what? I don’t feel bad about it at all.
It was raining and chilly and it seemed like the perfect day to lounge around and be completely unproductive. Dinner was in the crock pot and required no more than 10 minutes to assemble. It’s Spring Break, so we don’t have to spend any time tonight getting ready to head back to school tomorrow.
We played silly games, had goofy discussions, watched TV and read books. The boys giggled and we all spent the day snacking. All in all, it was a perfect lazy, rainy Sunday. Except for one thing. And because of this one omission, I think we get an “F” on our report card.
No one took a nap.
Except for the baby, because naps are kind of a necessary part of his every day life. But on a day that was practically designed for a nice, long afternoon nap, no one slept.
I think we need to revisit this lazy and rainy Sunday afternoon thing again soon. It’s too bad that we’re coming to the end of our rainy season here in Southern California. Time’s running out!
