Moms Need Dreams (And It's Really Cool When They Come True!)
Somehow amidst the chaos, we mothers find time to dream. Whether or not we are working towards accomplishing those dreams is another thing, but I believe we each secretly have a list in the back of our minds. You know the one, the someday list (someday my house will be clean, someday I will take a nap, someday I will lose those last 20-40 lbs, someday I’ll stop yelling at my kids, someday I’ll travel the world, jump out of an airplane, whatever…) That list obviously changes with time. Point is, we need to dream! Our kids need us to dream! Seeing as how they learn from our example.
So, it’s the beginning of 2012. Resolution time. Probably the only time of the year that we really pull out that someday list and dream about making it a reality. For the past 4 resolution years, “getting organized” has been at the top of my list. (Seeing the many totes that line the promotional aisles of Walmart and Home depot, I notice that I’m not the only one making that resolution.) That dream will probably be a lifer on my list.
Following close behind ‘getting organized’ is my dream to write professionally. Writing for my personal blog, mush, has been a source of therapy for the last 4 years, but it hasn’t fulfilled the desire I have to take the next step.
Thanks to this awesome new year, I’m witnessing one of my personal dreams become a reality! And here it is.
Here I am. Writing. Babbling! And what’s better than babbling about parenting? I’m in the thick of it right now and couldn’t be more excited to join the Babble Kids team. Not only am I doing my parental duty (I sound so responsible, don’t I?) by setting the example for my children that with hard work, dreams can come true, but I get to share our chaotic life with you which is sure to provide some entertainment while I juggle a gazillion hats. It’s quite the funny roller coaster ride I’m on and I guarantee it will be fun!
The ride wouldn’t be possible without my strong-willed seven year old girl, energetic five year old boy, fearless two year old girl, kicking baby boy in Utero, hard working husband, gymnastics, piano, soccer, baseball, swimming, you get the point…
We rarely experience a dull moment.
So, HELLO BABBLE! And HELLO 2012!
What are you doing to make your resolutions become a reality?
