My 6-Year-Old Has More Style Than Me

My 6-year Old Has More Style Than MeMy 6-year-old has a better sense of fashion than I do and its a style all her own.

I honestly don’t know where it came from since I am not what I would consider fashion-forward, nor do I have the right body-type to pull off any outfit. (Thanks hourglass figure!) Raru has always had an interest in clothes, textures, and accessories.

She has what I would consider a “hipster style” and she’s adapted it to suit her style needs. She loves her long hair with a band across her head, she loves to wear dresses with pants underneath, and she will pile on the best accessories to go with her outfits.

We picked up some yellow skinny jeans for her this week, something that I wish I could wear, but again, the body type doesn’t fit the style. They look amazing on Raru though. And as you can tell by the picture, she loves them and has the attitude to pull them off.

Today she went to school with her new jeans and instead of pairing it with the safe white t-shirt, she decided to go with her teal blue shirt featured a cat wearing big pink sunglasses.

I love the confidence that she gains when she choses her own clothes. I love that she’s got her own idea of what works and just goes for it. I hope these qualities stick with her throughout her life and I am going to continue to support her in her fashion choices, even if I don’t quite get why she paired that necklace with that outfit.

I’m going to take some pictures of the interesting outfits she puts together and share them with you so you can see for yourself! Stay tuned…
