There’s no doubt, folks. My daughter is growing up. It’s happening faster than I thought it would and it’s kind of blowing my mind. I am excited to see her grow and watch her try new things, but I have to admit, I am also a little nervous.
Many things we’re venturing into, I’ve not done as a parent before. I like to know what I am doing and when it comes to raising kids — sometimes that’s just not possible.
Earlier last week my older daughter received a letter from her best friend — an invitation to a sleepover.
She was wildly excited, and still is as we count the days until the first time that she’s ever been away from us. It will be the first time she’s slept somewhere that’s not my house or with my parents (which has also been a long time) and away from her siblings too.
It’s a fun right of passage for kids and I am so thrilled she will experience it. Her friend has been a close one for a long time and her family is equally as awesome. I know the two girls will have so much fun together and I look forward to hearing about it time and time again.
I’ve never done this before though and was wondering if you guys had any tips? Should I anticipate any fears or anxieties from my child? It’s been like 15 years since I had a fun, girly sleepover!
