My Dr. Seuss The Lorax Mustache-Themed Valentine's Card

My mom began a little tradition about four years ago for Valentine’s day. About a week before the big day she mails Addie a Valentine’s card and encloses a check with instructions for Addie to take us (Cody and myself) out on a date for Valentine’s. She started doing it when Cody was in law school knowing money was tight and getting out for a real Valentine’s date would be difficult since we were thousands of miles away from family and everything we knew.

This year we’re spending Valentine’s in Florida, and honestly it may be the best Valentine’s ever. The day before we left Addie got her card and check with strict instructions to take Cody, Vivi and me out tonight on a sweetheart date. She’s spent the last three days planning where to take us (so far it’s ice cream for dinner and caramel apples for dessert.) And she spent the morning cutting out and drawing hearts asking us all to be her Valentine. Since she’s not going to be able to attend her class Valentine’s party I made her Valentine’s of my own thanks to a little movie coming out soon based on Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax (we are all super geeked to see it.)

(Valentine made from downloadable PSD file of The Lorax Movie poster, edited in Photoshop CS5 with free font download (Grinched) from DaFont.com.)

You can also download four different (and free!) printable Lorax Valentines that require no Photoshop skills at all.

A big thanks to Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax for sponsoring this campaign. Click here to see more of the discussion.
