I watched the news break the other night that Jerry Sandusky had been found guilty of 45 counts of sexual abuse of children. Like a lot of people, I was relieved that he was finally behind bars and happy that justice had been served. It is a horrible situation all around, but the fact that he will never be able to physically harm another child is at least a small consolation.
Shortly after I heard the verdict, I sent out a tweet about my immediate thoughts on the decision. It received positive feedback, which I expected…and it surprised me when I received some negative feedback. I am honestly didn’t expect anyone to be at all defensive about what I wrote, because, in my mind, being defensive about it is defending Jerry Sandusky.
And that might not be a fair assumption to make, but, honestly as far as I’m concerned, I can not, even for a moment, understand why anyone would be concerned about his treatment in prison. You can read more about my reaction, and the response I got on my personal blog here.
I’m curious what your reaction was to his conviction, and my tweet about his upcoming prison stay.
