My Work-From-Home Secret: Education Through Fun on My Phone!Devan McGuinness
As a work-from-home mom, there are times where I am at a tight deadline for work and need some help keeping the kids entertained for half an hour. We have our go-to TV shows and movies, but what my kids really love playing with is my iPhone!
There are some really great apps and games available for kids and it would be easy to go way over budget with everything that is available, so I tend to rely on the free games for the kids. Those ones can be a hit and miss sometimes, but thanks to Disney Junior I don’t have to break bank to keep my kids having fun.
I love to have games on my phone that are fun for the kids, help them learn without realizing they are learning. I like apps that are geared for all the ages of my kids, from (3 years old to my 6-year old) and will help Speed work on his fine motor movements.
The app was totally free (so big bonus for mom) and the kids already know and love Jake. It was especially entertaining for my oldest who loves all things pirate right now, but still appropriate for my youngest (and let’s be honest, I don’t want to have separate game folders for each kid!) who was able to understand the commands and play along.
So, if you are looking for an app that is great for the kids to work on skills while being educational download this one for free. It will help your sanity while you’re working a tight deadline. Guilt free cause, hey they’re learning something!

Perfect if you’re in the middle of a show and need to run out to do errands. No complaints from the kids that they’ll miss the end of their show. Or perhaps there are several kids in a family who like different programs. One can watch on the TV, while the other watches on their favorite device. Missed their favorite show? - Fans who aren’t on Comcast can contact their cable provider to ask for the service via the website or the app.
