Our 8 Favorite Movies to Watch on a Rainy Day

Ah, the spring is finally here! Goodbye to the cold air and the snow and hello to the fresh air, rain and thunderstorms.

When you’ve got kids and the weather outside is not favorable for them to run out all their silly energy, you need to find some way to entertain them. For me, I don’t like the kids getting too hyper indoors, I like to save that for when we’re outside and less likely to break something or each other.

Our favorite April Shower’s rainy day activity is to make an indoor movie theater. We choose a movie, close the curtains, pop some popcorn and settle in to watch some of our most loved movies.

    One of my kid's favorite Disney movies, this takes you on a great adventure outdoors. There's lots of sunshine and songs to make up for the gloomy day outside.

    My kids can and have watched Star Wars over and over. It's an adventure like no other and with so many in the series, you can say entertained for hours.

    On a rainy day, what better thing to do than surround yourself with the images of Rio? Tropical birds, adventure and great weather, it's bound to keep your spirits high.

    A classic tale remade in 2006 for live-action, this movie is just as good as the animated on from years ago. It takes me back to my childhood and my kids love it too.

    The mysterious adventures of these chipmunks will no doubt keep you glued to the screen. This in the series is particularly good for a rainy day because of the amazing summertime scenery.

    This was a favorite of mine when I was a young girl and now that it's been re-released, my kids are loving it too. Taking place in the rainforest with gorgeous tress, animals and flowers, it will take you right out of the rainy scene out your window.
