I spent last weekend in Chicago with Addie doing as many things as possible in just over 48 hours. After talking to my sister yesterday we both agreed that it was around 7 or 8 that we really started to remember the best bits of the regular weekend getaways we took with our own mom. I can remember spending hours behind our campsites in Southern Utah searching for lizards and rolling through sand dunes. Some of most favorite places I’ve ever been were with my mom, The Exploratorium and Alcatraz in San Francisco, Monterey Bay Aquarium in Southern California and Crazy Horse Monument in South Dakota. My mom did a good job of taking photos to make sure we remembered our outings but nothing compared to what we can do with digital photography today.
I took plenty of photos while we were in Chicago and I’ve already started to wonder what Addie will remember when she’s my age. I decided to make a little scrapbook for her so she wouldn’t forget all the fun we had anytime soon.
Wendy’s Fresh Pic’d Summer Scrapbooking App on facebook made it outrageously easy to put together a quick and easy 20 page book with little notes about where we went, what we did and what she liked most. To have the book printed and shipped was only $7.60 and I entered it in their sweepstakes for a chance to win a copy of it for free (20,000 winners and the sweepstakes ends July 15th, those are pretty good odds!)
