School Is Back, I am Back

945831_1402309453319356_2109261278_nBack-to-school season is upon us, which means I finally have time to start blogging again. Although the kids being out of school for the summer was only the tiniest little bit of the reason that I have been missing in action from Babble.

This September marks the start of the third year that I have been a blogger here. This time three years ago, I found out that I was pregnant with my daughter Addison, who’d just turned two in April. Where does the time go?

Now, our house is full with a kindergartener who will be six in December (talk about making me feel OLD!), a four-year-old who is rockin’ his way through Pre-K like a boss, and the aforementioned small fry who started her very own preschool type program this year.

The house is lonely some days. I knew this day would eventually come, but I didn’t think that I would ever feel like I was missing something. Jeez! I have an actual job!  Now I will be able to concentrate on my workload instead of locking myself in the bedroom, while pumping Justin Timberlake through my headphones in an unsuccessful attempt to drown out the chaos.

What have the past couple of months brought us? A lot of change.

We moved from Connecticut to Florida during the last week of April. It has been a transition for everyone. A culture shock, and a humidity nightmare, but overall I am really happy. I didn’t think leaving Connecticut would ever be in the cards for me, but sometimes life throws you a curve ball. And you have no choice but to roll with it.

I published two novels, became a go-karting queen, and I am now officially addicted to sweet tea. Oh, and my zen time for the day includes vacuuming, something I never thought I would admit to… in a million years.

But, it is nice to be home here on Babble. Everyone here has been a family to me for years and coming back to write always feels like I am returning home after a long absence.
