Seven Years Has Come So Fast

As Dylan’s 7th birthday quickly approaches, I’ve found myself wondering (repeatedly) where all the time has gone. When you’re a kid seven years seems like an eternity, but as a parent I can safely say that the past seven years have gone by in the blink of an eye.

With Zach approaching Kindergarten and Oliver acting less and less like a baby every day, I’ve been spending a lot of time lately going through old photos to remind myself about what they were like as “little” kids.

It was interesting to look at my photo albums from the beginning of the year from 2005 until now to see how different our lives, and the children, have become, but also how much they’ve stayed the same. They won’t be my babies forever, but it’s so much fun to watch them grow up that I’m okay with that. I might just have to put together a slideshow retrospective of years gone by every once and a while to remind me what life used to be like.

You can see what February has been like for us over the years in the slideshow below!

At almost 32 weeks pregnant, I look thrilled to be taking this photo, don't I? It's nice that I got so dressed up for the occasion. Baby Dylan would be making his appearance in 6 short weeks.

11 month old Dylan is perfecting his walking skills. He was pretty tickled with himself.

Sporting a brand new top tooth. My mom memory doesn't recollect if he had bottom ones or not yet. So, this could be his first tooth. Let's just say it is and celebrate, shall we?!

His second major illness in his 11 months, in this picture he's suffering from a nasty case of Rotovirus. What this photo doesn't show is that a few days later, his dad and I were suffering from a nasty case of Rotovirus as well. The only bright side? After it I was back to my pre-baby weight. But it's definitely not a diet I would recommend.

6 month old Zach is a super chill, super happy baby. If you look closely, you can see his right eye turning in a bit. In real time, though, this wouldn't be noticed for another 5 months. Hindsight may be 20/20, but his vision was needs glasses!

Apparently, at almost 4 and 1 1/2, this was a boring time for us. I have barely and pictures...or recollections about what was going on then! Maybe because I was 3 months pregnant at the time?

Yet another trip to the beach, this time so I could get pictures of the amazing sunset. The boys, at almost 6 and 3 1/2 had a blast playing on the beach in the "dark."

    February 2012
Here they are, at the beach again at almost 7, 4 1/2 and 17 months. If you look closely, you can see Zach frowning. As per usual, he and Dylan had been arguing about something silly. Some things never change!
