I’ve never bought puffy paint, but I know two things about it.
First, it contains chemicals that I wouldn’t want to accidentally end up in my kids’ mouths (you just never know) and second, it’s expensive when you start buying multiple colors.
With a bit of poking around, I found a recipe for homemade puffy paint.
Little did I realize just how much fun my daughter would have with the paint before we even moved on to the bigger project.
So today, let’s tackle the puffy paint and I’ll be back next week with the fun project the reader suggested.
(Update: Here’s the project we tackled…Cinnamon Ornaments.)
Here’s what you’ll need for this project…
- squeeze bottles for the paint … my local Michael’s had these for $1 each
- food coloring (I used Wilton gel colors)
- popsicle sticks or spoons
- super thick paper … we used paint paper
And here’s how you make it…
And here’s my daughter Katie’s testimonial…
