The Berry Nice Gnome Gang

The Berry Gnome Gang.

I’m not sure where I first saw it, Pinterest perhaps (most likely?) It was little strawberry men made with COOL WHIP whipped topping for heads. (Found it!) I didn’t remember what they used for eyes or even what they were for, but the image of them stuck in the back of my mind so as I was slicing strawberries for after dinner tonight I figured “HEY ADDIE! LET’S PUT ON A PLAY WITH STRAWBERRIES!” Ever the skeptic but up for anything she played along as we turned six strawberries, a few teaspoons of COOL WHIP, some poppy seeds, chocolate chips and sprinkles into our very own berry dramatic soap opera.

Here’s how it played out.

  • A gaggle of gnomes. 1 of 7
    A gaggle of gnomes.
Oh you know, just a bunch of berry gnomes out on the town on a Friday evening.
  • IT’S A GIANT! 2 of 7
    IT'S A GIANT!
OH NO! The giant! She's eating Harold, and it looks like she's enjoying it!
  • OH NO! HAROLD! 3 of 7
    OH NO! HAROLD!
The gnomes are terrified, the giant and her mom then eat all of them.
    THE END.
  • This is Parker. 4 of 7
    This is Parker.
Parker is a lonely berry gnome after a family of giants ate all his friends, he survived because he was sick at home with scarlet fever. So lonely. Oh so lonely.
  • Enter the Lady Berry. 5 of 7
    Enter the Lady Berry.
Enter the lady berry. My, isn't she a sight to behold! Surely Parker won't be lonely anymore.
  • Parker is in love! 6 of 7
    Parker is in love!
It's love at first sight for Parker! Looks like the lady berry feels the same way. Look at that flowing hair and those ample...stems, a true catch.
  • And they lived happily berry after. 7 of 7
And they lived happily berry after.
The rest is history (which became dessert.)

I don’t think we’ve ever had more fun with our dessert.
