The End of School Year Countdown is On

End of School CountdownIt feels like it wasn’t long ago when I was thinking about the kids heading back to school. Speed was starting grade 1 and it would be  my first experience having a child in school full time. The first time I would be missing his company for 8 hours each day, 5 days a week. Raru was going into senior kindergarten and though only part time, the house was going to feel so quite with just Bean at home.

It was a while ago though, since in just one short month, this school year will be complete and we will begin the summer vacation again. Two months with three kids home full-time again and the calmness I was getting used to will be gone.

The countdown is on and I have a feeling this summer is going to be a good one! I am pregnant with our fourth child, the kids want to start some organized activities and we have a long list of things we want to do this summer — from a visit to the zoo to strawberry picking and of course, a family beach trip.

I am sure that we will have to find a new routine since I will be working from home with no extra child-care, but I hope we will find that fun balance quickly. I know that two months sounds like a long time, and that one month to prepare for all that time off sounds like enough, but like all other parts of life — it will fly by.

After the summer, things will be different again. Raru and Speed will be gone 5 days a week and Bean starts kindergarten and will be away from me for the first time ever for 2-3 days of the week.

In exactly one month, life will be crazy and good and noisy and chaotic and I can’t wait!
