On Friday night I attended a cocktail/birthday/celebration party at Blissdom in honor of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax which will be in theaters THIS WEEK. (THIS WEEK! EEEEK!) on Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Look, if we’re going to celebrate someone’s birthday, there’s really no one better than Dr. Seuss. Disliking him is like disliking warm sunshine or baby giggles, it’s just not possible. I’ve been tossing around ideas of how to celebrate his birthday with Addie and after the party on Friday night I’m both inspired and in awe of how magical it all was.
My best friend, who happens to be an interior designer, plotted ways to smuggle out the bigger than life truffula trees, while my other bestie commented on what a tasty cocktail The Lorax makes (not the actual Lorax, but a Lorax-inspired cocktail.) Everyone was in awe of the flower arrangements and all around were little cards that had seeds that could be planted once we were all back home. The Lorax also knew how to throw down with an amazing selection of music and a photobooth full of moms cutting loose and being silly in the spirit of Dr. Seuss himself.
It was indeed a very well executed party for a very anticipated movie, and don’t forget how easy it is to help plant a billion trees in the spirit of the movie as well.
