We Are Going to Disneyland

By Kacy Faulconer |

Have you heard tell of the mass pilgrimage of Utahns to Disneyland over the once called “Deer-Hunt”now called “Fall-Break”?

Well, the stories are all true and my family is heading west this weekend. We ride on camels to the holy city to pay our taxes just like our people did long ago (where “camel” is minivan, “holy city” is Disneyland, and “taxes” are our GetAwayToday deals. Work with me).

Follow me on Twitter for dispatches from the road and please Tweet any must-sees and must-eats @Kacyfaulconer. I didn’t exactly plan this vacation very well. I’m relying on social media to be our tour guide.

The bags are packed. The kids are stoked. I’ll see you on the flip side!

Haha! I was just telling my son last night about ‘deer hunt’ break.

And – social media is a great tour guide!

Have a great time! I was just there last weekend! The Haunted House was our favorite! All decked out for Halloween!

  3. Hailey says:

Well, you’re in luck because Josh Bingham wrote a post about this very thing on Part Time Authors. But you probably already knew that. :)

Monte Cristos with garlic fries and cajun dipping sauce, in New Orleans Square. You will never be sorry. Halloween time at Disneyland is my favorite. I start getting the withdrawal shakes around this time every year. :-) Have fun!

When I was growing up in Norway, our fall break used to be called the “potato break” because it was during potato picking season, and the break was originally designed for kids to help out with the potato picking at home. But by the time I was in school in the mid 80s, I don’t think I even knew anyone who had picked a potato in recent memory.

Now that I have filled you in on that, enjoy Disneyland!
