I Asked My Kids, "What Does A Mommy Do?" & They Replied…

If you were to ask around to your friends at work, your neighbors and people you meet on the street what a mother does, you will probably get a good variety of answers. Moms raise children to become the next CEOs, teachers, and firefighters. They cuddle and kiss, they fix boo-boos, and are our first teachers. They take care of the things we didn’t realize needed to be taken care of when we were younger and support us through the good and bad. It’s actually kind of hard to put a list together of everything that a woman does as a mother.

Earlier last month, one morning my kids asked me why I didn’t work outside of the house like their friends’ moms at school did. I tried to explain to them that I do actually work, but instead of getting into the car to go to my office, I walk upstairs and go into my office at home and that being a mom is more then just what we do outside the house. I wanted to try to give my kids a grasp of everything that a Mom does in their everyday life — so I thought I would ask them, based on what they see me do: What do they think a Mommy does in a day? They answered:

My kids are hungry a lot and apparently think that if they ask nice enough, all moms give out food.

    And I quote from my nephew… “She does times.” So I ask what kind of times? Times like 8 times 5. Oh so like math? Yeah, I do regular math
