What is Goofy Anyway? We Investigate

My husband and I disagree about a lot of things. Who to vote for, Mac vs. PC, and of course, the species of Goofy.

Is Goofy a dog? He has dog ears but no dog tail. Besides, Pluto’s a dog.

My husband thinks Goofy is a tailless dog. I happen to believe Goofy is the creation of Walt Disney’s imagination itself, designed to puzzle the masses some 70+ years later.

Unable to solve the mystery ourselves, we hatched a plan to find Goofy and ask him, because Goofy wouldn’t lie…would he?

With the help of my free Verizon Disney Mobile Magic app, I used the character tracker to locate that silly non-dog character in Mickey’s Toon Town, the perfect place for such a wacky beloved character. As swarms of children gathered around Goofy for an autograph, my husband and I sat off to the side, debating the origin of the Goofy species and waiting for the perfect moment to bombard him with hard-hitting questions.

Suddenly Goofy spotted my smug-looking husband, marched right up to him and gave him a big hug and a noogie just because he could. Before I could even utter the question, Goofy shook a “no-no” finger at my husband and sauntered off into a restricted area. Had he heard us debating? Did his Goofy senses give us away?

I’m afraid the Goofy mystery remains unsolved but at least now we have a story to go with it!

Maybe you can help. What IS Goofy?
