What LGBT Parents Want You to Know

By Lori Garcia |

There’s simply no “one size fits all” for parenting.

While modern families may come in a variety of forms, one thing remains the same: Parents’ love for their children matters most of all.

For so many LGBT parents, societal ignorance remains an ongoing battle. I reached out to the LGBT community for their voices on parenting in the age of the modern family; check out what they had to say after the jump.

LGBT Parents Speak Out on Misconceptions

Gay parents don't raise gay children

Society seems overwhelmingly concerned with gay parents' ability to raise children with traditional gender role models. Gay parents don't raise gay kids. Period. My son will grow to love who he loves and we'll love him unconditionally.

I’m not a LGBT parent but i dont see anything wrong with it and i dont understand why people have to be all in their business. As long as the child/children are being taken care of and loved, what does it matter?!?!?!?

  2. Misty says:

To Angela Mother of 1 Why in the pic of you and your girlfriend with your son at the beach- is he wearing a PINK onesie???

  3. mommyfriend says:

The image is a stock photography image and not an image of Angela.

  4. David J. Bauman says:

To Misty: Why would the pink onsie be a problem? Did you become more butch because your mom dressed you in a blue bathing suit? Get serious.
