When Will You Let Your Daughter Wear Makeup?

My daughter got her ears pierced when she was 8. Now she’s about to start Jr. High and we’ve been talking about make up. She certainly doesn’t “need” it. Does any 12-year-old girl “need” to wear makeup?

But it’s a fun part of being a girl. I didn’t wear much makeup as a teenager. I was more of a tomboy. So I haven’t given this question much thought. I’m inclined to let her wear lip gloss and mascara. What do you think?

I have a lot of respect for other parents and I’m interested in what you think about this. Can’t wait to curl your baby girl’s eyelashes? Or is makeup verboten until  your daughter comes of age?

Tell me when you plan to let your daughter wear makeup in the comments!
