When Your Kids Say Something That Makes You Go "Hmmm?"

When Your Kids Say Something That Make You Go "Hmmm?" This is kind of an embarrassing story about the time my kids asked me a question that made my jaw drop and laugh at the same time. I wonder if you will question what it says about me … or if there is some ‘validity’ to their question. I am sharing because I know that it doesn’t hint to anything weird or serious … it’s just funny.

It doesn’t take a lot to phase me and I am not really the type to laugh — it kind of has to be really funny. The kids hit me with both of these a few weekends ago when we were doing some simple errand running as a family.

We went to pick up a new web camera, we went clothes shopping, grocery shopping was next, and then we stopped at a store they didn’t really recognize. They didn’t go in, the kids and I waited in the car while the Husband ran in.

When the Husband got back into the car, the kids were thrilled that they realized where we were. No where they had ever been before, but they recognized what my husband picked up.

They shouted, with the car windows open and people around ….

Oh, this is Mommy’s juice store!”

You know, the LCBO. Here in Canada we don’t have alcohol in the stores— we have small wine store and in Ontario, the LCBO — Liquor Control Board of Ontario where we get our alcohol from.  Like I said, the kids had never been in to the store, but they did recognize the bottles of wine the Husband picked up for me.

They know it (thanks to the Husband) as “Mommy’s juice” {said to them a few times to explain why they can’t share this with me, they frequently steal other beverages and food right off my plate.}

I can’t be sure if anyone heard, or if anyone looked over, but the Husband started to laugh as she saw the shocked look on my face. I think most of the shock was them saying this in public (they’ve said it before too) … on second though, maybe they are trying to tell me something.

disclaimer cause I don’t want you all to yell at me: I don’t drink a lot, promise. My kids just like embarrassing me.
