Let’s face it, beauty brands are smart. Not only do they know we love food, but they’re creating products named after some of our favorites. And as much as I love to eat, body scrubs named after desserts is definitely going to catch my attention. In fact, I found 10 you could eat, but you shouldn’t!
Body scrubs and polishes have a special place in my heart. I love how they make my skin soft, while leaving a nice glow! It’s a great way to exfoliate my dry and dead skin away. They come in a range of prices too—from drugstore to luxury. Don’t feel like spending the big bucks? I found one you can make at home from Martha Stewart.
If you’ve never used a body scrub before make sure you find the right one for you and your skin type. Yes, there are a lot of different kinds out there, with a lot of different ingredients. Each one has an abrasive component like sugar, salt, or even coffee grounds (to name a few). They also come with various oils and fragrances. If you have gentle skin that irritates easily, I’d test a small patch of skin first.
And promise me you won’t go crazy with them. According to Discovery Fit & Health (DFH), health experts say using a body scrub two or three times a week is plenty. But, if you have sensitive skin, you should do it less than that. Remember not to rub too hard! DFH says you could be taking off your healthy skin cells and that will leave your skin looking red and feeling sore. If you see red—stop! Getting that soft skin should not hurt! They recommend rubbing the body scrub firmly but gently on the skin in a circular motion. After you do the entire body—just rinse it off.
So, are you ready to get your skin prepped for summer? I am! Here are the 10 yummy (sounding) body scrubs I told you about! Remember, don’t eat them! I know it can be tempting.
