5 Latina Celebrity Beauty Secrets for Anti-Aging

Ever wonder how Jennifer Lopez manages to have radiant glowing skin? Or what about Sofia Vergara’s stunning body at the age of 41? Seriously, how do they do it? Many of the hottest Latina celebs, including Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayak, are in their 40s, and still look drop-dead gorgeous. I’m convinced they probably bathe in milk or perhaps drank water from Ponce de Leon’s fountain of youth. I can tell you I drank water from the fountain of youth during my 5th grade field trip to St. Augustine and it hasn’t worked much for me.

If you’re scratching your head too, don’t you worry; we scoured the internet to find out some of their beauty secrets for staying young. You might want to start incorporating some of these into your own beauty regimen.

    Actress, singer and designer, Jennifer Lopez swears by getting 8 hours of beauty sleep and admits it's her number one beauty secret for glowing skin. "I try to get eight hours a night. I think what works best is sleep, water—and a good cleanser."

     

    According to LATINA magazine, she also uses Vaseline to remove makeup and according to an article in the U.K.'s Now magazine, she also gets regular placenta facials (yes, you read right—placenta!). 

     

    "Jennifer's been a fan of placenta facials for years," a source told the magazine in 2011. "They cost her over a thousand dollars a week but she swears by them. She loves that it's natural with no harsh chemicals. Jen always looks fabulous but there's hours of work that goes into that."

    This one is interesting: Salma Hayek, 46, recently shared in an interview with ITV1's Lorraine that her beauty secret is not washing her face in the mornings. Salma said, "Always wash your face at night. Clean it really, really well at night.

     

    "One strange tip don't wash it in the morning, at all, never. Because at night your skin is rebuilding some of the oils that you need to keep your skin young, and it balances the PH. So in the morning if you take them off you can splash it with water, do something mild —- but you don't want to get rid of that. And if your skin is dirty in the morning, it means you didn't clean well at night."

     

    She also said she doesn't have as many wrinkles as she probably should and attributes that to using a facial cream from her own line, which she has been working on developing for years and which is available at CVS/pharmacy.

    Sofia Vergara is 41 and looks drop-dead gorgeous, that's for sure. She recently told Vogue that her beauty secret is Creme de la Mer. "I keep my own little containers so I can carry it with me when I travel." It doesn't come cheap either--it costs about $150 an ounce. 

     

    She also told Allure Magazine she's never really been good at working out and the only way for her to do it is to have a trainer after her. "I met Gunnar Peterson early this year and now I work out with him; it's great because I don't have to think, I don't have to count. We do one hour at least, whenever I'm free—two times a week, three times a week, if I'm really lucky four—we do weights, and little bit of cardio."

    Penelope Cruz says her anti-aginig secret is eating well and exercising. "I try to eat well. I used to dance for seventeen years classical ballet, which was very disciplined. I like yoga and Pilates but I don't have the discipline to go to the gym. I like to exercise in a group or in a team because it stops me finding excuses!" she tells Cosmo Magazine.

    Brazilian Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima prefers using oils to help with anti-aging. She tells Cosmo Mag, 'I love oils—they help hydrate my skin so it stays youthful-looking. The one that I keep in my bag at all times is the Rodin Olio Lusso Luxury Face Oil, $150." She also loves eating blueberries and blackberries, which are rich in anti-oxidants and help burn fat cells. 

     

    When it comes to exercising, she loves jumping rope. Her workout regimen consists of jumping rope for ten minutes, which equals 35 minutes of running. "Sometimes I do jump rope for one hour and easily burn 1,000 calories per session."
