6 Tips for Making your Wardrobe Last 1 of 6
Scroll through to learn how to make your wardrobe actually last.
1. Use Quality Hangers 2 of 6
I personally like using felted hangers. They are gentler on your clothes and also help with saving space in your closet, since they are thinner. It also prevents your clothes slipping off the hanger and ending up on the floor.
2. Change Out of your Clothes When you Get Home 3 of 6
As soon as you get home from work or running errands, make sure you change out of your clothes. This helps in preventing wear and tear of the garment.
3. Skip a Wash 4 of 6
Some garments can go a couple of wears before actually hitting the washer, for example jeans and darker colored items (that is of course if they are not stained). I usually wear my jeans at least twice before washing. Excessive washing can also wear out your clothes in no time and fade colors.
4. Follow Instructions 5 of 6
This might sound like a no brainer, but make sure you are reading the labels on your clothes for proper instructions. If it says dry clean only, then make sure you are not sticking it in the washer. Here's a cool article on how to read clothing label instructions properly.
5. Handle with Care 6 of 6
When you change out of your clothes decide if it needs to be hanged, folded or put in the laundry basket right then and there. Sometimes we might get lazy and just find it easier to stuff it in a ball in our drawers- I'm guilty of doing this. The next time you want to wear something it will be all wrinkled and you will wish you had taken the extra time to put it away.
