We are planning a “transportation-themed” party for my two-year-old who loves all things planes, trains and automobiles — but after seeing the trailer for the Disney Planes movie I may just focus on all things airplanes! One piece of advice I will start with: always pick a theme it because helps narrow down all of the possibilities.
Because I have so much going on in my day-to-day life, I have to plan parties way in advance. I don’t necessarily start doing anything for them until a week before but having thought through the party ahead of time helps me not fret about it, the day of. I love parties but, most of all, I love celebrating my family and friends.
I’ll let you in on a little secret that I have learned from all the parties I have thrown: kids don’t need all the glam and glitz so don’t get worked up about the party or spend tons of money on it. I personally like to focus on the decor on the dessert table and on the activities.
Here’s the printable that I came up with to help me not go into a frenzy over my little ones birthday party:
I actually walk around with my checklist on the day of because it helps me remember what activity or game is up next. And, if you’re really in a hurry, you can even print this from from your phone if you have a mobile printing-ready printer!
