I was recently invited to attend an all expense blogger event at J.M. Smucker Company, where I learned tips and tricks that would definitely make the holiday cooking easy and delicious. We learned how to make some delicious holiday treats the kids would enjoy as well as the adults. We were also inspired by so many of their products, like Folgers coffee for a steak rub recipe.
I had no idea Folgers Coffee was a Smucker’s brand product. For dinner one night, we had a Folgers coffee steak rub sirloin, and it was delicious. I came home wanting to cook something up with my husband. We created our own inspired Folgers coffee steak rub recipe.
Coffee experts at the Smucker Company recommended coffee, according to a survey of questions I answered. I like flavored coffees, and I like to drink my coffee warm or iced. I was sent Folgers Gourmet selections Caramel Drizzle, and the aroma of this coffee was amazing. It is delicious hot or iced, and it’s even great as a steak rub.
My husband and his family share a love for steak. Many of the ways our meats are seasoned in the Mexican culture are with dry rubs, but I’ve never seen a coffee rub. Creating a new tradition for our family meals is extremely important, since our family is a combination of cultures and traditions.
This may not be your traditional meal for the holidays, but creating this rub allowed us to experiment with flavors we both love. We incorporated chipotle chiles and brown sugar into our steak rub. Our steak was not only coated in this delicious sweet rub, but we topped it with a chipotle raspberry sauce that definitely brought out the flavors!
Follow the recipe below and step by step photos to create this delicious Coffee Steak Rub.
