Finding a dress that hugs our Latina curves in all the right places can sometimes be challenging. But with some simple tips and learning what styles work with our body types, dress shopping can be cinch. Here are a few tips on picking the perfect cocktail dress to flatter your curves.

Pear-Shaped: If you’re pear shaped (smaller on the top and bigger on the bottom) look for dresses in an A-Line cut. This type of style is great for balancing your frame and helps define your waist. Avoid styles that cling to your hips.

Hourglass: If you have an hourglass figure, look for dresses that will play up your small waist without adding bulk. Dresses with a defined waistline are a great option. Avoid dresses with too much fabric or that have a boxy-style.

Curvy: Dresses with an empire waist  (one that hits right underneath the bust line) are very flattering. It also highlights the narrowest part of your waist. Also look drapey fabrics that skim over your curves, without clingy.

Overall the goal is to highlight your curves, not hide them! So be sure to choose fashions that will help accentuate your best features.
