My Miami Fashion Wish List ¡Dale!

Excuse me for a second. I’m a little too excited. This week I head to Hispanicize, an annual event for Latino trendsetters and newsmakers in social media, journalism, marketing, film, music and innovation. Phew! And adding a bigger smile to my face, is the fact that it’s in glorious sunny Miami! I can already feel the sun hitting my pasty skin.

Now, if you don’t already know, I love to travel. There’s nothing like the freedom of exploring and discovering new places. Miami is a beautiful city and the weather is pretty much awesome right now. I’ll be staying in South Beach, where all the action goes down. I’ve been there a couple of times already and I always have a great time. Even when I accidentally planned a trip during their hurricane season.

When I pack for Miami, I imagine myself walking the streets with all the beautiful people, shopping, eating out, having drinks by the pool, and of course hitting the beach. Oh…and looking fabulous while doing it.

I’ve already begun my packing process, in my head, and it goes a little something like this. Pack light, colorful, and purposeful. I’ve put together a list of a few (plus size) key items I think would make great pieces for my South Beach outfits. Guess you can say it’s a Miami fashion wish list!

What would you pack for Miami?

  • Getting Tropical and Floral 1 of 8
    Getting Tropical and Floral
When I visit any beach city, thoughts of tropical and floral prints dance in my head. This Tahari 'Dawn' Sleeveless Print Blouse would be perfect with my favorite black skinnies or even boyfriend jeans. I can't keep my eyes off this Bird & Floral Print Chiffon Dress from Forever 21+ either. I'd pair it with my favorite sandals for a little shopping.
  • Light and Breezy Cocktail Dress 2 of 8
    Light and Breezy Cocktail Dress
Since I'm not into the club scene, I love lounges. I can see myself in anyone of these light, yet colorful dresses drinking a mojito. The Jessica Simpson Cold Shoulder Matte Jersey Blouson Dress in blue looks comfortable too. Or I could go a little sexier in this ASOS CURVE Exclusive Dress With Wrap in green.
  • Just a Little Bright 3 of 8
    Just a Little Bright
I feel like bright colors just belong in Miami. Like the two were meant to be. Finding any basic piece in a neon or canary yellow would liven up any look, day or night. Take this Pique Welt Pocket Skirt by Ashley Stewart or Colored Skinny Jeans by Forever 21+. Super basic and very versatile.
  • The Multi-Tasking Wedge 4 of 8
    The Multi-Tasking Wedge
Do you ever feel like just don't want to wear a heel? That's me, right now. I think wedges would be perfect and a lot more comfortable. Besides, I'm by the beach. And I think they're mandatory. Mango's Touch Woven Wedge Sandal, Aldo's Tumoa and Reva could basically fit each and every outfit I take with me to Miami.
  • Mandatory Maxi Dress 5 of 8
    Mandatory Maxi Dress
I'm a sucker for a maxi dress. And nothing say's "I'm casually hanging by the beach" better than the bohemian style maxi. I think the Spense Sleeveless Utility Maxi and NY Collection Sleeveless Pleated Belted Maxi need to make it into my suitcase.
  • The Multi-Use Bag 6 of 8
    The Multi-Use Bag
I think I just found the perfect bag...crossbody by day, clutch by night. It's like a super hero! How divine is this Bleeker Bloom Foldover Crossbody? I'm seriously in love. And the colors? Citrus and wind are perfect!
  • Seeing Chic Swimwear 7 of 8
    Seeing Chic Swimwear
Me + the pool + the beach + chic swimwear= a happy woman. Sorella Swim knows what I want with this gorgeous Underwire Bikini Top and High Waisted Swim Bottom in Hibiscus. I also need this Chiffon Maxi Swim Cover-Up! And I can't forget my Havaianas flip flops either!
  • Styling Sunglasses 8 of 8

There's no way to get around this one. Sunglasses are a must! And any of these from ModCloth will work perfectly.
