Traveling with little ones can be a bit overwhelming. I remember my first flight with my kids alone and how terrified I was about getting them lost or being that mom with the screaming baby. I learned a few trick on the way and now think we are pros at traveling with the kids.
Every year the kids and I travel back to California to visit family and friends. This has become our annual family vacation. Our vacation starts off with traveling alone with the kids— just mom and 2 kids.
This year I get to say I am traveling with preschoolers. They understand when I say we are going to California that we must board a plane. They get excited about planning for our trip. What bags to take and what things to pack. They know some of the things that are important to do during our travel too.
We have made it a routine to go over our travel plans a couple of weeks before our traveling day as well as the week of traveling. Discussing the little things has helped tremendously in the past it has not only kept them calm but also made it a smooth experience all together.
Here are a few of the things we talk about before our traveling day begins.
