10 Decals That Are Infinitely More Awesome Than Stick Figure Families

By joslyngray |

We’ve all seen the stick figure families on the backs of people’s cars. They’re cute. Apparently, some people really hate them, and several really obscene decals are available now, spoofing the trend. The other day, when the kids and I were leaving a playground, we saw a particularly charming decal on a car in the parking lot.

It was on a Cadillac Escalade, in the parking lot of the “poshest” playground in my area. I guess after you spend $85K on a car, there’s no money left over to buy some class?

Thanks to the owner of that Caddy for leaving me to try to explain this to my kids:

Yes, I censored this photo. That's how bad it is.

Thanks for keeping the playground family-friendly, Escalade owner. Stay classy.

But later that same day I stumbled across some really, truly awesome alternatives to the classic stick figure family decals. If you’re “so over” stick figure families, how about one of these (instead of something truly offensive)? Check them out!

Thanks again to Etsy shop Kelly Creation Decals for making the Lego head one by special request!

You say “Stay classy” toward the ones with the procreating stick figures. But it’s not like ANY decals on your vehicle is particularly classy whatsoever. Rather redneck like their cousins the bumperstickers. Just sayin’.

  2. the original Sarah says:

Yeah, I agree. No offense to people who have them, but the stick figure decals are just one step up from Calvin-peeing-on-something-you-don’t-like stickers. I especially hate it when people post the whole names of their family members. I’ve always thought that’s an invitation for some creeper to get close to your kid. “Hey Tommy Anderson? You’re Joan’s kid right? You’re mom and I go way back. Want to come to my house and watch my special movies sometime? Joan won’t mind at all!”

  3. joslyngray says:

It’s really neat when people say “no offense” and then go ahead and say offensive things. Neat.

  4. goddess says:

Kinda like when you say things like “Stay classy”? Okey dokey- YOU keep iy klassy there ;-) (at least the “k” is much more trendy)

I have a set of silver dragons. They are all different and they are very subtle against the gold of my car you can only see them up close. @ The Original Sarah, I agree it is less than smart to put names of your family on these stickers but that is not your choice its theirs and @ Goddess, they are not only a redneck thing they are common even in areas that have a very low population of, as you call them, rednecks. So, as you yourself said, no offense, but keep offensive comments to yourself, because your parents should have taught you not to speak if you can’t say anything nice. A polite way to voice your thoughts could easily have been found.

@Goddess, LOL. Touche. And I do hate those Calvin-peeing-on-things decals. I don’t want the stick figure ones on my van, but they don’t bug me like they bug some people.

The funniest stick figure family I saw was one with two parents and about 10 kids–on a Smart Car!
