12 Things You Should Never Say to a Blogger

By Lori Garcia |

What’s wrong with people? I mean, seriously. If there’s one thing I can’t stand it’s verbal diarrhea.

I’ve written gobs of posts on what not to say to toddlers, pregnant women, moms of large families, moms of multiples, and adoptive parents so seemed only logical that I’d find my way to bloggers.

I wish I understood why (oh why!) curiosity seems to zap people of their common sense. Have you even noticed that? The more curious people are, the more entitled they feel to ask rude questions and make offensive statements.

I get that blogging is an interesting profession/passion but c’mon people! There’s a hard line between curiousity and rudeness.

I’ve rounded up 12 verbal offenses made toward bloggers but I’m sure you’ve got a few doozies yourself. Be sure to share them in the comments below!

I'd NEVER put it all out there like that

Wow, you say it like it's a bad thing. Blogging is not for everyone but it is for me.

One time some guy tried to comment on mine “Get a real job.” People can be so disrespectful to bloggers ;-)

  2. MonicaBielanko says:

    Ha! Love this.

  3. mkay says:

Do bloggers really get paid? In this economy?? Who really reads those anyways? Except for maybe bored people? Not trying to be “disrespectful” to bloggers. But I just don’t see how that’s an actual occupation. You write about your job or your life, I guess and I would not pay to read about any…with that c ya

  4. Sarah, Goon Squad Sarah says:

My favorite is “Why would anybody read your blog?”

    Thanks, Mom.
