No one is slamming pot here. Not today. Maybe pot’s not my thing, but I’m no narc. I’m no Agent of D.A.R.E. (but I so want to drive that van). So I bring you this story not as a condemnation of marijuana use, but maybe just a reminder that we should all have fun responsibility.
So when I tell you a 2-year-girl was found wandering around pantsless with her dad’s glass pipe in her toy purse, understand I don’t automatically blame pot. I blame the dad. Did I mention the daughter was also carrying an empty bottle of pain pills and the family rabbit?
The girl’s parent’s say they’d just laid down for a nap when the girl apparently took off. Hey, everybody likes naps. I will condemn naps no more than pot (I’M VERY OPEN MINDED).
But I do have a few questions:
1) Who takes a nap during the day if the kid is still awake?
2) Who doesn’t child proof the house so the kid can’t just wander away, especially when you’re taking day time naps?
3) Who leaves drug paraphernalia with reach of a two-year-old? Either you just left that stuff on the floor or that kid climbs like a monkey.?
The funny thing is, as trashy as this story makes the parents sound, they could very likely be well off, urbane, professionals who just happen to make bad decisions when their high.
What do you think, how high on the irresponsibility scale does this one rank?
