2012 Blogging Conferences!

cecilyk cecilyk |

I know we’re all focused on the current holiday season, but it’s soon going to be conference season again. 2012 is looking like it could be the hottest conference season yet.

I’ve had several folks ask for a list of conferences in 2012, and I’m happy to oblige. I’m going to add a bit of commentary, too, because, well, I get to do that. So here you go, ten of the conferences for the first half of 2012.

Please note: this list is not complete. If I’ve missed something, be sure to include it in the comments!

  • Blissdom

    Blissdom

This conference enters its fourth year with a radical new change in format – no panels. Instead they are calling their sessions "mini keynotes" instead. Sessions will be longer and promise to be more in depth. Held in Nashville at my very favorite hotel, the Gaylord Resort. Find out more here.

  • Dad 2.0

    Dad 2.0

This marks the launch year of this dad blogging conference. Headed up by Doug French of Laid Off Dad and with the power of the folks from the Mom 2.0 Summit behind it, it's likely to be a hit. Find out more here.

  • Bloggy Boot Camp

    Bloggy Boot Camp

With four new locations this year (Philadelphia, St. Louis, Las Vegas, and Dallas), this conference continues to be one of the best for beginning bloggers. Featuring great networking and speakers, you can't go wrong with Bloggy Boot Camp. Find out more here.

  • Disney Social Media Moms

    Disney Social Media Moms

This conference offers not only a solid social media conference but also good times at Disney World. Tough to get in, but well worth the trip (so I hear). Find out more by following Disney Social Media Moms on Twitter here.

  • Mom 2.0 Summit

    Mom 2.0 Summit

In its fourth year, this conference offers a unique style and a more luxury experience. You'll find great locales, smart sessions, and fun parties, and often a bit more of a design bent at this conference. Held in Key Biscayne, Florida in early May. Find out more here.

  • Type-A Parent Conference

    Type-A Parent Conference

Look, I can't lie: this is probably my favorite conference. I've gone the first three years and will not be missing this year. Sadly, the location has moved to Charlotte instead of Asheville, which makes me sad because I have enjoyed my annual Asheville visit, but I'm looking forward to discovering a new city. In late June. For more info, go here.

  • Blog World Expo New York

    Blog World Expo New York

One of the largest of the social media conferences, with more sessions on the schedule than any other conference (Blog World LA had more than twenty sessions happening at a time). You can learn plenty at this conference. In New York in May. Find out more here.

  • SheStreams

    SheStreams

In its second year, She Streams has been called one of the most professional blogging conferences available. Heard nothing but great things about this smaller, focused conference. In Ft. Lauderdale, Miami in March. For more info, go here.

  • South By Southwest Interactive

    South By Southwest Interactive

Pretty much the ultimate in tech and social media conferences. Some day I'll go. Someday. In Austin, Texas in early March. Find out more here.

  • Alt Summit

    Alt Summit

The premier in design conferences. You'll see more beautiful things than you can imagine at this conference, including its location. Another one I dream of attending one day. In Salt Lake City in January. For more info, go here.

Thanks so much for the mention Cecily. :) Look forward to seeing you four years in a row. And I am sad about Asheville, too, but Charlotte is pretty amazing. Wait until you SEE the epic new patio.

    Hi Cecily:

Thanks for this! Have you ever attended at ‘Mom 2.0 Summit’ conference? I only ask because next year it’s going to be held in my neck of the woods (Miami) and I was considering attending but I’m not too sold on the ‘luxury’ aspect of it all. I’m going to BlogHer ’12. Do you have any thoughts or someone who can share with me?

    Thanks a mil,
    Vanessa Jubis

I was thinking BlogHer 2012 (in NYC) should be on the list, too. Otherwise, nice work, Cecily! :)

  9. Amy says:

This website – BlogConferenceGuide – has a long list of blog conferences for 2012. http://www.blogconferenceguide.com/

Also Disney Social Media Mom this year is by invitation only so I don’t think it should be on the list.
