As parents, we should never pass up an opportunity to learn and teach our children about other cultures. We’ve been exposed firsthand to the Asian culture, as my husband is Filipino. We’ve been ‘taught’ to keep many of the customs that a typical Asian household may have. We don’t use shoes inside my home, we use certain gestures when meeting and greeting elders on my husband’s side of the family, and white rice is a staple in my cooking. I love and embrace this side of our culture — especially the food! Mulan is one of my favorite Disney movies, and it is the first Disney movie that my husband enjoys watching with the kids over and over again. Mushu is freaking hilarious!
In honor of its 15th anniversary, Disney’s Mulan will be be released on Blu-ray tomorrow, March 12, 2013. To help you celebrate and discover new and exciting Asian culinary awesomeness, here are 21 recipes you can enjoy while you and the kids watch Disney’s Mulan!
