Where the Wild Things Are Tattoo

There are certain things that people hold dear; their first love, their best friends, and their favorite book from childhood. Even though the person in question has moved on from picture books to epic novels, the books that they loved when they were three to – say – thirteen still hold an impact. These books made such an impression that as soon as they were of age, these literary loving adults opted to get their favorite childhood book characters tattooed – forever – on their skin.

Some got odes to old school classic like Where the Wild Things Are, The Little Prince or to the work of Eric Carle. But others, they got more modern with tattooed tributes to Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, SkippyJon and If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.

Check out these 25 epic tattoos in honor of children’s literature. Which one would you get?

While all of these are amazing stories, they are all incredibly tacky. Read the book. Frame the book. Leave it on your coffee table 24/7. But ink it into your skin? No thanks.

I love it! Being a thrice-tattooed Mommy myself, I love the idea of getting my favorite children’s book tattooed on me. Only problem is, I wouldn’t know what to get inked… my Mom was a big fan of reading to me and my siblings, LOL!
