My name is Sunny Chanel and I am an app addict. Yes, it is true. I download, update, and randomly try out a slew of different apps for my iPhone, from things that promise to make my life easier, to games for daughter (and me), to ways to capture photos of our family.
Babble has just published the brand new list of 50 Best Apps for Parents, and it is a stellar roundup of must-haves for any and all moms and dads on the go.
Here are my personal favorites plus ones I can’t wait to try that I’ll be downloading as soon as I’m done writing this:Apps I already love:
Epicurious Recipes & Shopping List
I love to cook — the Epicurious app makes it very easy to search for recipes while at the market.
A while ago I became slightly obsessed with family history and Ancestry.com. I was staying up way past my bedtime researching my family tree. The possibility of having the program on the go makes for a great way to pass the time when out and about.
Instragram is ridiculously popular and for good reason — it’s fun, practical and a great way to snap, save and share images.
PBS Kids Video
On a long car ride or when we are in some massive line at Trader Joe’s, the PBS Kids Video app comes in very handy. Sometimes you just have to keep those kids entertained.
Pinterest is wildly addictive, and having it in app form is a great way to pass the time when you are on the go.
We use Yelp a whole lot. From looking for a place to have lunch to the nearest place to pick up soccer shoes, the Yelp mobile app has proven to be extremely convenient.
What I’m going to download after reading this list:
I need to get in shape and I’ll take any help I can get! This app looks like just the thing to get me on the road to wellness.
I love photo apps, and this one looks to be a very comprehensive photo editor. Can’t wait to try it out.
It’s great to have a finger on the pulse of all the family-friendly events going on, especially while traveling. This app is a great way to keep up-to-date on what the big happenings are.
You Rule Chores
We’ve been struggling with the best ways to handle chores. This app seems like a fun way to inspire and track a child’s progress.
