You know what I need? A date night. I seriously can not remember the last time my husband and I got to sneak away and have an evening away from our darling daughter. Don’t get me wrong, we LOVE hanging out with her, but sometimes a couple just needs to have some time alone so they can have an actual conversation, relax a little or perhaps get up close and personal. I just need to make it happen and as an inspiration to me (and you) here are five ideas for a great date night. Which one sounds best to you?
Go to a movie!
It’s a classic thing to do on a date night, and for good reason; getting a chance to see a movie that is not animated or has to do with talking dogs is not to be underestimated. There is always something playing. The hard job is just figuring out what film to see. Bonus points for seeing something with a little romance in it!
Any couple can just go out to dinner for a date night but how about having dinner with the world renowned chef Daniel Boulud? Now THAT is a date night. You can attend a very special and exclusive dinner with Chef Boulud at his restaurant Daniel with a six course tasting menu with a wine pairing, a cocktail reception plus an autographed cookbook. You can find out more about this delicious date night here.
Stay home without the kids!
A date night in? Yes, it can be grand to have a date in your own home…without the kids that is. Pawn off your children to a friend and/or relative and spend some uninterrupted time sitting, chatting and perhaps in the bedroom with your partner. Just don’t get caught up in something like doing your taxes or cleaning out your closet – that does not make for a fun date night…at all.
A date day
Instead of having a “date night” have a “date day.” It’s rare when a couple can get some alone time during the daylight hours, but there is much you can do before the sun sets. For example, you can spend the day in Napa Valley with Leslie Sbrocco the television host and wine expert where you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at wineries in Northern California such as Domaine Chandon, Franciscan Estate Winery and Newton Vineyard. It’s seven hours of wining and dining in a beautiful locale. You can find out more about the “Day in Napa Valley with Leslie Sbrocco” right here.
Have some laughs
Everyone loves and needs a good laugh and you can giggle away with some of the countries best comics at the New York Comedy Festival (happening from 11/7 to 11/11). Comics who will be appearing include; Ricky Gervais, Patton Oswalt,The Wayan Brothers and Aziz Ansari. You can find out more about the event – and get preferred tickets – right here.
The Humane Society of New York is holding their fourth annual benefit photography auction with such stunning images up for the bidding like Milton H. Greene’s photographs of Marilyn Monroe. At the event on November 14th, you can hobnob with Babble’s own Alexandra Wentworth, her hubby George Stephanopoulos, Ali MacGraw along with other celebrities. Find out more about this amazing event right here.
