8 Best Things About the Super Bowl That Had Nothing to Do with Football

Madonna!

Yes, there are some people who were glued to the screen watching the each and every yard, down and touchdown of the Superbowl, but then there are the rest of us.

Those who don’t care about the New York Giants, the New England Patriots or any incarnation of grown men throwing around a ball in a great big field.  To these non-football fanatics the whole thing seems like a pointless exercise, a waste of time. But even if you don’t ‘get’ the sport of football or care about the Super Bowl there are still reasons to love it.

Here are eight awesome things about this year’s Superbowl that had nothing to do with football.

Many people tuned in to the Superbowl not to watch the football but rather the much anticipated half-time show featuring a 53-year-old mom of four dancing around in very high heels. Yes, we're talking about the one and only Madonna.

And Madonna brought friends. Nicki Minaj sang, Cee Lo looked noble, LMFAO danced, and M.I.A flipped everyone off. Yeah, it was a party.

One of the highlights of Superbowl Sunday is the gluttony that accompanies the game. Wings, Ribs, Chips, 7-Layer Dips and if you're very lucky you have a Sandwich Stadium like the one above.

Besides David Beckham in his underwear, there were all those other entertaining ads that turned out to be more interesting than the game itself.

    Traffic? Not So Much.
But it you weren't feasting, watching the game, the halftime show or the ads, it was a perfect time to hit the road. Traffic was non- existent.

One of the best things to do on Superbowl Sunday? Go shopping. No lines, no hassle. My neighbor celebrated Superbowl Sunday by hitting Costco and Target.
