Not every mom and mom-to-be had a happy Mother’s Day, and not just because their husbands failed to get them cards or flowers.
An expectant mom in Fontana, Calif. — 9 months expectant, to be exact — was held up in the parking lot of a Kohl’s department store at 11 a.m. on Sunday by an 80-year-old woman packing heat.
“She seemed like a nice old lady that might need directions,” said the victim.
However, the elderly woman then pointed a gun at her and said, “Excuse me, ma’am. I need your purse.”
The victim said the culprit was wearing black sunglasses and jeans and was covering her face with a floral print scarf. Her getaway car was a Dodge Neon with tinted windows.
Police are on the lookout for the thief, who is described as in her 80s, standing at about 5-foot-2 and 140 pounds.
The expectant mom is fine, although she said she thought she and her unborn baby were dead when she saw a gun pointing in her face.
“It’s the scariest thing that’s ever happened in my life,” she said.
