12 Silly Ways Life Changes After Kids

A lot of things change when you have kids. It’s the best experience and the hardest job in the world, and I feel very fortunate to be riding this crazy train with my three precious howler monkeys. But you may find (as I did) that your lifestyle becomes less about style and more about just plain life.

Example: You haven’t slept more than three hours in a row in two years? That’s life. You can’t wear your Prada heels because your feet grew during pregnancy. That’s life. You’ve got the sweetest, fattest, snuggliest toddler in the history of ever? That’s life, too.

Here are some very silly ways life is different — before and after kids.

I LOL on the going to Target by yourself one….. I actually did that the other night, and that is exactly what I thought! :-)

  2. Jennifer says:

I’m so with you on the Perfect Fantasy now! What I wouldn’t give for uninterrupted sleep!!!
And I’ve actually even told my dog that if she dared wake up the baby with her barking, she didn’t even want to know what was going to happen!

  3. pantrygirl says:

“I went to Target *all by myself.* It was magical.”

    So true it’s sad.

  4. mamie says:

    All true!!!! You are brilliant!!!

  5. Katy says:

Hubby’s car is starting to show it’s wear, and we’ve been talking about getting a new ride when the tax return comes. I have never seen someone turn pale while faster than when I said the word “minivan”.

  6. Jasmine says:

So true, I am speechless! Lol I totally love the perfect fantasy.

  7. Mom2Four says:

Haha!! My dream car right now actually IS the Honda Odyssey!! I’ve wanted one for about a year now! Our old Pontiac Montana minivan just doesn’t have the entertainment or other really cool features that the new Odyssey has! And as a mom to four kids 6 and under, car rides can get pretty awful without entertainment!

  8. sarahbing says:

Oh, Target by myself … it IS my perfect fantasy.

  9. Jenna says:

Ugh! I keep clicking over to babble from rfml but this site doesn’t work correctly on my phone. (definite first world problem, I know) Maybe if would work with the mobile theme turned off but I can’t tell because it won’t let me turn the darn thing off. Argh!

  10. elysianhunter says:

Target…all by myself! Yay! And my kid’s almost 21! It’s the 55 year old toddler at home that’s the issue now. :)

  11. M says:

My favorite – New Year’s Eve. So true!
