9/11 Photos, Memories: Sights and Sounds of How September 11, 2011 Unfolded (Video)

September 11 pictures and video commemorate day

Chances are you remember with great clarity where you were on 9/11. Photos and memories of that tragic day always provide a reminder of the events, but on the 10th anniversary of September 11, The Today Show remembered the sights and sounds of that day in this video montage.

Watch the video to see September 11 pictures and footage of the way the day unfolded. It’s very powerful to see the coverage from the beginning of that bright and sunny day – a day that seemed to be just another normal September day.

To see the 9/11 events unfold is beyond comprehension sometimes. What it was like for those who experienced it is something I can’t even imagine.

At 8:46 a.m., American Airlines Flight #11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. At 9:03 a.m., United Airlines Flight #175 crashed into the South Tower.

In this video, footage from September 11 shows the chaos in the streets, the phone recordings… and the towers crumbling down.

At 9:37 a.m., American Airlines Flight #77 hit the west wall of The Pentagon. Flight 93 ends in tragedy, though the heroes on board will never be forgotten.

CNN also posted video of how September 11 unfolded. Ten years later, and it doesn’t get any easier to watch.
