One of the most common questions pregnant moms are asked after ‘when are you due’ is probably, ‘is it a boy or a girl’, followed by ’do you have any names picked out’? Picking a name for your baby is difficult to say the least, unless you’re one of those rare moms who fell in love with a name early on.
Then, of course, you have to come up with two names depending on the sex of the baby…or do you? Could choosing a unisex name be the most brilliant idea ever?
Celebrities certainly have no trouble using unisex names (not to mention just weird ones). Look at Jessica Simpson’s daughter Maxwell Drew and Rachel Uchitel’s daughter Wyatt. Heidi Klum and Seal also named their daughter the name Lou.
If you are the indecisive type or just cannot choose a girl and a boy name, picking one name that covers both might help if you are not a traditionalist. It also helps if you’re keeping the sex of your baby a surprise until birth.
