Awesome Time-Lapse Video Shows Boy Morph into a Man

boyIt all goes by in a flash, says every parent giving other parents advice.

In the video you’re about to see, that’s literally the case.

In what Mathew Perren calls the “picture everyday project,” the teen took a selfie every day from ages 15 to 18 and compiled the photos to create a time-lapse/stop-motion-style video showing his journey from boyhood to manhood in just under two minutes. Perren says it’s a total of 1101 pictures he took between January of 2011 and now.

As Perren tells Yahoo Shine, he was inspired by Noah Kalina’s viral self-portrait series and Internet sensation MysteryGuitarMan.

The video was uploaded January 5th and has already been viewed more than 1.6 million times.

It’s fascinating that he chose the span of time between 15 to 18 to take the photos because it seems to be the time when most boys lose that look of boyhood and take on more adult features. When we see people every day the changes seem imperceptible, but childhood really does go by in a flash, doesn’t it?
