Babble Blogger Terminated for Plagiarism

Yesterday afternoon it came to our attention that a writer for our Being Pregnant blog had plagiarized portions of her work. This news is upsetting to us for a few reasons: because it was copied content, because that content actually belonged to another blogger whose work here on Babble and elsewhere has provided so many of us with joy, and because it cast a bad light on the honorable, wonderful and hard work that our bloggers do here every day.

What followed was both quick and thorough—we investigated the accusation, found it to be accurate, and immediately dismantled the posts from the blogger in question. She is no longer working for Babble. We have also issued an apology to both the blogger whose work was copied, and to the owner of the site it was taken from.

We are so proud of our bloggers here on Babble. From our ages and stages blogs that guide parents through some of their hardest times to taste-making blogs like Family Style and Family Kitchen, from relative newcomers like Dadding to the incredible collection of influencers in Babble Voices, we stand behind our bloggers and the incredible work they do here every day. This incident was not welcome, but it has had the effect of making us doubly glad for what we have. Which is to say: We are continually amazed by our community, and will always be impressed by the dynamic, creative work that thrives at the heart of Babble.

best,

The Babble Editors
